Birthday baking!

I never bake, I'm awful at anything cooking related but it's my boyfriend's birthday tomorrow and we always bake each other birthday cakes so I picked up Betty Crockers devils food cake mix and chocolate fudge icing (which tastes surprisingly good considering it comes in a tub!) I know it's sort of cheating but it's a lot more likely to taste edible than if I baked them from scratch! I decided to make lots of little cakes rather than one big one and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! Just hope the boyfriend likes them! I think they'd look so much better with edible glitter sprinkled over the top but I have to keep telling myself they're not for me haha!

The finished result!

Snow princess nails

I combined Revlon's Blue Lagoon and Models Own Snowflakes to create this Cinderella-esque look! I included pictures of Blue Lagoon and one and 3 coats, just to show that it's quite opaque so takes a good few layers to get a solid colour.

Pound World Haul

I love finding branded products in pound shops! I picked up these two Rimmel nail polishes in Pound World in colours Blue Lagoon which is a pale minty blue with tiny shimmery flecks and Tropical Temptation which is a pinkish coral colour. Perfect spring/summer colours!

Tropical temptation - excuse the fact it's all over my hand! I only took the picture to see what the quality was like on my boyfriend's camera and intended to take one for on here when I'd sorted them out but they started to chip pretty quick so I didn't get chance :(

I also picked up this NYC duo eye shadow in Heather Plum. I'm not sure why because I never where eye shadow, especially coloured eye shadow but I was just drawn to this! I actually really like it. The dark purple isn't as pigmented as I'd like it to be (I was hoping it would look so dark it was almost black) but I still really love it!

Finally, not from the pound shop, I purchased this L'oreal lipstick in Cheeky Magenta. These are £8.19 originally but it was in the reduced section of Superdrug because it had no top and had been used. I swatched it on my hand and it was so glossy and unlike any other colour I own that I decided I should  buy it and just cut the used top off. At only £1.50, I couldn't help myself!

Housey craves!

My boyfriend has been in his house over a year now and although it feels homely and we're decorated, we did it as cheaply as possible rather than how we actually wanted it. So on nights like these where I just cannot sleep I go a bit crazy and get all excited and start browsing for cute home furnishings!

I absolutely love all the cushions and the floral kitchen accessories (Asda), the space saving kitchen bits are essentials in his tiny kitchen (b&m), I have an obsession with those tiered light shades and lamps (Sainsburys), the bright towels and bathmat might actually be my favourite (Matalan) and I've lusted after that duvet cover for aaaaaaages (Tesco).

Mothers Day buys

Thought I'd show you my Mother's Day buys! I had a budget of £10 and spent £9.15 in total including my card which cost £2 so I'm pretty proud of that! The gift bag was from Poundland and came with gift wrap, tissue paper and a bow. She asked for shabby chic things for her bedroom and she's always moaning about the lack of volume in her hair so that explains some of what I bought!

Card from Asda £2
Clock - Poundland £1
Hanging heart - Poundland £1
Fat Hair root lifter spray in the clearance at Superdrug for £1.15ish, originally £5ish
Stripey grey and lace PJ top £1 (was £3) and footlets £1 (was £3) from Primark
Handmade 'mum' chocolate - Asda £1

Glamour magazine March 2013 (picture heavy)

I am a massive fan of Glamour magazine at the moment! I've never been a glossy magazine kind of person because I always seemed to spend a few pound on a couple of pages of pictures that I would look through and be done with after about five minutes but in January I picked up Glamour and have bought every one since then and plan to continue to do so!  Along with pictures of fashion and beauty products it has really interesting articles and really focuses on helping you to eat healthier, think positively and achieve your goals. It actually motivates me more than anything else at the moment which is pretty crazy for a magazine.
Anyway, I picked up the March issue yesterday so thought I'd take some pics and show you what I thought were the 'best bits'.
The issue came with "your ultimate guide to everything beauty" and one of four Percy & Reed hair products.
I love this page (left), I can always relate to some of them if not all! I do the last one ALL the time, weird?

I don't personally want to do any of the activities mentioned (left) but still, interesting read!
I LOVE the dress, shorts and green bag!
I love that they're including an article to show it's not just women who get insecure!

I really love these denim looks!
Some gorgeous photos of Kelly and my favourite page (right!)
Although I don't necessarily believe in horoscopes, I love reading them! And 1 doughnut = 9 party rings, who knew?

My issue had the Colour & Shine conditioner in, with my hair being so long, thick and in such awful condition I go through conditioner like crazy so any freebies like this are welcomed! I'm looking forward to using this. I haven't heard much about the brand but it's sold in Selfridges and John Lewis and it's pretty pricey stuff so I have high expectations!

Pictures from the guide to everything beauty!

I'm longing after the anti-redness one! I always have a bright red face, it looks like I've used blusher as foundation. I adore the look with cat eyes and nude lipsticks! Definitely want to recreate.
It left me longing after red and nude lipsticks and I really love the look of the Giorgio Armani one, shame it's £26!
