Tanya Burr Lips & Nails swatches/review!

I'M BACK!
Hey guys! It's been ages but long story short, my boyfriend of two years who I've previously mentioned on here is no longer in my life. It's obviously been a difficult time and I lost all motivation to do anything (including blogging), but I'm back and have lots of posts lined up for you guys!

SO
Blogger and youtuber Tanya Burr launched her range of lip glosses and nail polishes to be sold at feelunique.com not long ago and being the ego beaver (or saddo... you decide) that I am, I ordered both a lip gloss and a nail polish the night they were made available despite being a poor student who really should be spending money on necessities only! There are 10 nail polishes in the collection at £5.99 each and 12 lip glosses at £6.99 each which is a bit on the steep end for me considering I tend to stick to the MUA section in Superdrug. However, if you're more of a MAC girl, you'd probably see these as a bargain! :) They only arrived this morning but there's a serious lack of swatches available at the mo so I thought I'd do something about that!
Tanya Burr Nail Polish 12ml - Mini Marshmellows
When I first took this out of the box I was a little disappointed as it looked more of a nude colour than the cutesy baby pink it looked online and holy crap it took me ages to unscrew the lid - I had to use rubber gloves it was on there so tight! Anyway, I was actually really presently surprised by the colour of this! It looks gorgeous on and I think I've fallen in love with it. It's already my new fave nail polish colour and I now want every single shade (which is never good!!) I can't comment on how long it lasts etc as I only put it on a few hours ago but I will update this post in a few days and let you guys know how well it's lasted :) It took 3 coats to get a good colour (see below) but I expected that anyway with the pale shade so overall I lurrrve this and want them all!
Left: one coat | Right: two coats
Three coats
Tanya Burr Lip Gloss 8ml - Exotic Island
Again, the colour of this looks pretty different in the flesh to what it does online. It looks more of a plum shade online whereas it's actually more of a pink colour. Even so, I do really like this it. The applicator is a sort of flat wand so application is easy and the colour is really pigmented for a lip gloss and wow these smell good!! Like, seriously good. I'm not actually much of a lipstick/gloss wearer but I think I'll be wearing this regularly in the near future. It seems to have stayed on well so far despite eating nearly a whole tube of pringles since putting it on so that's a pretty damn good sign! I really wish I could afford every colour of the lip glosses too, they all look really pretty shades! :(
Overall, I'm seriously impressed! I wasn't really sure what to expect but I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality and colour of the two products I bought and they've both left me wanting to buy more and whilst I wouldn't usually spend this much money on make-up (unless it was something special), I think the price is really good for what you're getting! What do you guys think? :)

NOTD: Headline Colors - GUNMETAL

I got this nail varnish by Killer Colours in the 2nd anniversary glossy box so thought it was about time I tried it out! It's not the sort of colour I would usually go for and it's not a brand I've heard of before either but I had a look at the website and found that this colour, gunmetal, is from the A/W 2012 collection and is worth £9. I actually really like this. I love that I don't have to worry about what outfits it will go with and there's no chips so far so I'm impressed! It's difficult to describe the colour, it's like a shimmery bluey, greeny grey that looks different colours in different lights! I also like the other colours in the same collection which you can see here.

Nails of the day - Revlon 'Girly'

I gave into temptation and purchased the Revlon nail varnish in 'Girly' the other day. It was on offer at £5.49 and I also had a £1 voucher so managed to convince myself that I needed it! In the bottle it's a gorgeous muted pink/purple colour with specks of blue, purple and pink glitter in various sizes. I fell in love with it but found that trying to get the actual purple colour on the nails is quite difficult. This is two coats and whilst I love the glitter, it's almost a sheer colour, I can see my nail through it.

I think next time I'm either going to have to either put lots more layers on or apply a colour underneath it. One advantage is that you wouldn't notice any chips! :)

MUA Haul - Power pout & nail polishes

MUA is quite possibly my favourite brand! It's so affordable and they're constantly bringing out new things meaning that their big crayon like lip products were on shelves only weeks after other brands released similar products! So I ventured into Superdrug the other day and picked up a few bits. I just couldn't help picking up some of the new nail polishes, I already have quite a collection! I love the new bottles, it makes them look a lot more expensive than they are, they were only £1 each!!
From left to right I picked up Deepest Purple, Pistachio Ice Cream and Bold Blue. I own so many purples but this one is so gorgeous, I don't have anything like the minty green colour and I've been wanting a blue like Bold Blue for absolutely ages. I'm really impressed with these new colours and the others that I didn't get chance to pick up, they're the perfect colours for spring! If they're anything like the other MUA nail polishes I already own they'll be really long lasting too. What more could you want?
Just to confuse you all, I swatched them backwards! From left to right - Bold Blue, Pistachio Ice Cream and Deepest Purple.
I've been so excited since I heard MUA were bringing out the Power Pouts to the point where I've rambled about them so much, my boyfriend even went looking for them the other day to buy me some! I will at some point hopefully own the whole collection but for now I have Broken Hearted which is a fuschia pink. I love how moisturising these feel, it means that they apply really easily and they're all such gorgeous colours and so pigmented. I'm really crap at taking my make-up off of a night so when I went to take my make-up off this morning I was pretty amazed that I still had this on!! About 15 hours after applying it which is pretty damn good considering it was only £3, a lot cheaper to the higher end brand alternatives!

MUA nail varnish haul

MUA nail varnish shade 8, 3 and 23

I've wanted a red nail varnish for absolutely ages. I think red looks amazing on nails no matter whether it's summer or winter but I've just never got round to buying one so made sure I got one when I placed my order! I actually really like this red (shade 8). It's more of a wine red than a coral red and I can't wait to wear it. Shade 3 is a pinky purple colour and I really like the colour against my skin tone! It's very similar to the love hearts U R FAB nail varnish (see below) but £1 instead of £2 and there really is little difference. Annoyingly I actually already own this and hadn't realised even though I was actually wearing it when I ordered so now have two! (You would think it's common sense to check before you order!) Shade 23 is a really nice muted khaki green colour. I don't own anything like this and it's not something I'd usually go for but after seeing pictures of other people wearing it I just couldn't help myself! I love it!

MUA Love Hearts nail varnish in I <3 U and U R FAB

All of the love hearts nail varnishes are so cute, I wanted them all. They're quite feminine and sophisticated. I <3 U is a really nice peachy nude but being pale takes a few coats. U R FAB is very similar to the shade 3 nail varnish (above picture) which is a little annoying but this one is a bit more of a muted colour so I think I prefer it.

MUA Squiggle Effect Magnetic Nails - Mayfair

This is actually the only magnetic nail varnish I own which considering I have a crazy nail varnish obsession and magnetic ones have been around for ages is kind of stupid really! I just can't really be bothered to be hovering a magnet over my nails after I've spent forever painting them but I really liked this one so I'm just going to have to put up with the faffing that comes with it! It's a metallic blue colour and I prefer the squiggle effect to the circle effect ones that they do. The photo doesn't show up the magnetic effect too well, it looked better before it dried!

MUA nail varnishes are quite possibly my favourite. They're affordable with most being only £1, they have a massive range of colours and they last ages without chipping. I've had U R FAB on for almost a week now and it's only slightly chipped at the tips. They're definitely worth the small price tag! They have everything from fur effect nails to constellation nails. I already have a list of others that I want!!
